What a lovely weekend I've had. It's been the perfect mix of busy and relaxing.
Friday I received the package I had been waiting for. I had bought some clothes as a birthday present to myself from ModCloth.com, which as we all know is my favourite website for clothes.... except this time, I got nailed with $80 owing for duty. Piiissed. But I paid it anyway, and I got my delightful new clothes!
Saturday night was wonderful, after a pretty lame last-shift-of-the-year-and-perhaps-maybe-forever-we'll-see at work. Some of my friends who had forgotten my birthday last week took me to The Clay Oven for a fantastic dinner, and a quick browse through a bookstore which resulted in my buying Paper Towns by John Green, and his collaboration with Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, Let It Snow. The best part: both of my new books had Nerdfighter notes stuffed in them!! I actually squealed and danced around in the bookstore. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the vlogbrothers on YouTube, you won't regret it. After dinner, my friends and I had a small Rockband party, which is a fairly standard end to our weekend nights.
As soon as I got home, I cracked open Paper Towns and read until I had drifted off to sleep without realising it. I woke up this morning to find the book on the floor next to my bed. I immediately picked it up and continued reading. I love when books are that good.
With a ~3 hour pause for showering and running some errands, I finished the book by 5, then did a little studying. I wanted to read Let It Snow but I think I'll save that for plane-reading closer to the holidays... if I can hold off that long.
I've only just realised how much I've neglected my computer this weekend, so it appears I've got some e-mails to return, some RSS feeds to catch up on, and some YouTube videos to watch! Although I do want to be up at 6 tomorrow, so I think I'll do all that tomorrow and I'll go to sleep now instead.
Night! <3
